Overview
Successful completion of the Certificate in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine (which includes Dermoscopy) is encouraged for enrolment in the Certificate in Advanced Dermoscopy and Dermal Imaging. However the Certificate in Advanced Dermoscopy and Dermal Imaging is open to any medical practitioner who has experience in Dermoscopy. The course focuses on the more complex skin cancers and their diagnosis and common dermatological conditions.
Program Objectives
The goal of this program is to provide advanced training in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer medicine in the primary care setting.
The Certificate course will provide the clinician with a range of skills at an advanced level in:

Certificate Course Format
The Certificate course is designed to meet the needs of busy medical practitioners by providing a flexible program with the majority of its requirements conducted in your own time.

The course includes:
- Online pre - workshop activity (completed in your own time prior to the workshop component)
- A two day weekend practical workshop featuring world renowned dermatologists
- Reference materials including full colour folder of all PowerPoint slides presented
- Online training and assessment program (completed in your own time within 6 months of attending the workshop)

To prepare the participant the University of Queensland has a short series of 40 multiple choice questions completed online at any time prior to the workshop segment. A record of participation is kept for the various colleges as it forms part of the CPD / CME component.

Assessment Requirements
This course incorporates two exams which can be completed at your convenience within six months of the completion of the workshop. They are designed so they do not have to completed in one sitting and you can log in and out as many times as you wish before submitting them. They are open book. A Statutory Declaration form must be completed and signed at the conclusion of the exam to verify you have completed the exam without outside assistance.

Relationship to the Master of Medicine
The certificate course is related to the two unit course in the Master of Medicine (Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine) IMED 7003. Students who wish to gain credit for this unit in the Masters will be required to complete the assessment requirements of the Masters under UQ assessment conditions.
Students will not be required to pay for this unit again.
Course Fees
The Certificate in Advanced Dermoscopy and Dermal Imaging is a two unit course from the Master of Medicine (Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine) and as such the tax deductible course cost is $2,904 inc GST.
Participants will be provided with pre and post - workshop activities, reference materials including a full colour folder of PowerPoint slides, online dermoscopy training and assessment program and catering.
